Boosdoener is onder meer ultrafijnstof. Dit zijn deeltjes in de lucht die kleiner zijn dan 0,1 micrometer [4].\u00a0 Deze dringen diep in de longen en bloedbaan door,\u00a0en zorgen voor negatieve gezondheidseffecten [5]. De bijdrage bedraagt in 2021 een kwart van de totale uitstoot aan ultrafijnstof door bronnen in Nederland [6,7].\u00a0 Weliswaar stoten nieuwe houtkachels minder (ultra)fijnstof uit dan oude houtkachels, de groei in het aantal houtkachels doet dit weer te niet.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-894fe3c elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"894fe3c\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-bb01397\" data-id=\"bb01397\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a98ad68 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a98ad68\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Ten onrechte voorzien van duurzaamheidslabel<\/strong> <br>Blokken brandhout die te koop zijn in tuincentra, zijn veelal vooraf in gasgestookte droogkamers gedroogd. Dat kost extra energie. Van houtpellets is de herkomst vaak niet transparant, ook al staat er een keurmerk op. Zo blijkt uit onderzoek van het Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA, september 2022 [8]) dat meer dan tien biomassacentrales en houtpelletfabrieken in vier landen in Oost- en Midden-Europa tienduizenden hele boomstammen uit beschermde bossen als grondstof gebruiken. Deze inputs waren niet alleen geen houtafval, zoals de biomassaindustrie beweert, maar ze waren afkomstig van Natura 2000-gebieden, natuurreservaten en nationale parken. Dit draagt bij aan de vernietiging van de laatste oerbossen in Europa. De verwachting is dat de prijs op het huidige niveau zal blijven.
